Species description

Amblema plicata

No conservation status in Kansas, populations are declining in the Kansas River basin

Formerly widespread and abundant in the eastern two thirds of the Kansas River basin, has experienced range reduction through thinning and loss from tributaries, rarely observed in large numbers.*
